Ramey Wine Cellars 'Annum' is an appellation wine, it is the one blend David Ramey makes each year from a range of vineyards. The 2009 is the fourth release and it's composed of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon from Rutherford and Diamond Mountain along with 17% Petit Verdot from the Pedregal Vineyard in Oakville. It's dense and concentrated, offering aromas and flavors of ripe black cherries, sweet cassis, herbs, licorice, spices and even fresh floral notes work their way into this beauty. Full-bodied and powerful, supported by muscular tannins and a long mouth-coating finish that leaves behind loads of dark fruits. The Annum spent 24 months in all new barrels, after which it was bottled without filtration. (Best 2016-2026) - April, 2013 (JD)
