Spending 18 months in all neutral puncheons, this 100% Syrah from the Funk vineyard was fermented with 25% whole cluster. A focused dark purple and ruby-core moves to a brick color on the rim. It’s another one of those Rocks District Syrah that you either love or hate. Bountiful tones of bacon fat, crushed black olives, toasted pink peppercorn, and tilled dusty earth play front and center. Secondary notes of black currant, blackberries, bitter herbs, and iodine fall nicely on the palate. Enjoy this one over the next 8 years or so. About 72 cases made.
