Spending 18 months in all neutral puncheons, this 100% Syrah from the River Rock vineyard was fermented with 25% whole cluster. This is all Rocks Syrah - meaty, smokey, spicy with those ox-blood characteristics that I adore from the area. Aromas of dusty earth, iron, and iodine merge with fruity notes of blackberry, blueberry compote, and toasted vanilla bean on the palate. Sweet tannins and medium levels of acidity accentuate the meaty and olive-brined finish. A small production of 29 cases were produced.
