100% Tempranillo fruit from The Rocks that is aged for 18 months in all neutral oak it sports a dark purple and brick core with a light red rim. It’s incredible how a sense of place can affect every single varietal grown in the area. The Rocks is probably one of the most unique AVAs in the entire country. You get those telltale notes of ox blood, iron ore, graphite, crushed black olives, white grapefruit pith, and bitter herbs. I couldn’t call this Tempranillo in a blind, but what I would call it is a fantastic bottle of wine I would recommend to anyone. Only 78 cases made.
