The 2018 Richard Hermann Cuvée Pinot Noir is simply exceptional. The Pinot Noir comes from a high elevation single vineyard in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA and was 100% fermented in 500L terra cotta amphorae and prior to being aged 18 months in 45% new French Damy oak barrels. The wine itself is striking, offering attractive aromas of black raspberries, wild red berries and pomegranate, which are woven together with muddled rose petals, sweet spices, orange zest and hints of forest floor that all develop beautifully in the glass. On the palate this is a thing of beauty, fine-tuned and well-structured with gorgeous silky tannins making for an absolutely lovely mouthfeel through the finish. Elegant and refined, this has the potential to age for decades.
