SOTER VINEYARDS Pinot Noir, Eola-Amity Hills ‘Origin Series’ 2021

My favorite of the Origin Series, the 2021 Eola-Amity Hills from Soter, saw 20% whole cluster fruit from the Zena Crown Vineyard during fermentation and was aged for 10 months in 30% new French oak barrels before bottling. A stunning neon ruby and garnet core with a light pink rim showcases what is to come. Black cherry, crushed black raspberry, bramble, and shades of orange caramel explode on the nose. Smooth tannins and silky acidity balance out the earth and spice notes that land on the mid-palate. It’s a spectacular bottle of wine. About 550 cases were made. Highly recommended and Editor’s Choice.
