The 2021 Hyland Pinot Noir from 00 Wines comes from old vines that are own-rooted, were planted in 1972, and are always the last to be picked. Light to medium ruby-garnet core with a brickish rim in the glass, this is a wine with loads of finesse as it glides across the palate. Very floral and herbaceous on the nose with notes of crushed black cherry and red plum skin alongside shades of dried rose petals, freshly cut hay, forest herbs, umami, and anise. Sweet elegant tannins, lush and mouthwatering acidity pair perfectly with the dried herb and black raspberry finish. Only 74 cases made. Highly recommended.
