I have loved every Gamay from Martin Woods, and this one is lovely as well. With old vines planted in 1997 and fruit fermenting with 40% whole cluster, it has no new oak influence to hide anything on the crunchy fruit. Light neon ruby core with a light pink rim in the glass, it gifts notes of light forest berries, cranberries, lemony citrus, and just a smooch of spice and earthiness to round things out. Acidity is elevated, and tannins are still present but are very smooth. Easy to drink and downright delicious.
