I loved the 2021 Avellana Single Vineyard Pinot Noir from Ponzi. The nose is as spectacular as the Abetina, with the edition of dark spiced fruits and more pronounced baking spice, melted wax, and sweet cinnamon stick aromas. But the palate is the chef’s kiss - so balanced between the lovely blue and red fruit, the wet earth compounds, and the lengthy rounded finish. This one should drink well for the next decade or more with proper cellaring. 225 cases were made. Editor’s choice and highly recommended.
