Another killer Syrah from winemaker Steve Wells, the 2019 Old School Syrah is a peppery, meaty, and balanced effort that hits all the notes. Dark purpled core with a neon pink rim in the glass, it boasts notes of Christmas-spiced blue plum, boysenberry, toasted baking spices, fresh peppermint, and crushed peppercorns. The palate is wonderfully balanced between the black fruit, spice, and meaty tones. I think this is the best Old School I’ve had from Time & Direction.
