The 2020 Artisen comes from 100% Malbec grapes from the Royal Slope and is aged in 33% new French oak. With a deep ruby-purple core with a glowing neon purple rim in the glass, it’s a spicy, rich, and decadent wine that deserves your attention. Baked blueberry pie, lime zest, toasted vanilla bean, sweet cinnamon, lemony herbs, and tar show complexity and adapt winemaking. It flows perfectly over the tongue, though it is still a bit young, so better wait till 2024 or 2025 to crack it open. I could drink a whole bottle of this. Editor’s choice.
