C.L. BUTAUD Mourvèdre, Texas High Plains 2021

Aged for 10 months on the lees in 2/3 stainless steel barrels and 1/3 once-used French oak, the 2021 C.L. BUTAUD Mourvedre explodes with dark cherry, blue plum, ground black peppercorns, toasted anise, and wet earth tones. Tannins are crunchy but starting to integrate nicely into the backbone of the wine, while the ample acidity finishes things off nicely. $30 90 Points 2023-2030
