Leonetti's Merlot is another stellar wine from this vintage. This instantly begins to impress with its incredible aromatics of beautifully ripe blackberries, dark currants, plums and blueberries, which are woven together with violets, dark chocolate, sweet spices, smoldering ash, sage and earth all exploding from the glass. The palate is focused, displaying remarkable depth and power, yet it displays a lovey sense of purity. It continues to deliver layer upon layer of gorgeous plush ripe dark fruits, dark berries and hints of spices which envelop the palate as it comes to an end with a big voluptuous finish that leaves a wonderful lasting impression. This is a serious bottle of Merlot that is already utterly delicious and should continue to drink incredibly well for many years to come.
