DEVISON VINTNERS Malbec, Walla Walla Valley ‘Southwind Vineyard’ 2019

The 2019 Devison Malbec is 100% varietal, is foot stomped with native fermentation. Aged for at least 14 months in 33% new French oak barrels, then blended and returned to barrel for 8 more months. Showing dark ruby/purple in the glass and delivering an explosion of blackberry pie, ripe black plums, dark chocolate, blue flowers, bitter herbs and wet crushed sand. I love the mouthfeel of this Malbec as you expect a heavy, saturated wine but on the palate it’s light and lively with incredible precision. Winemaker Peter Devison has incredible talent, and his Malbec showcases that nicely. If you drink now, decant for several hours or cellar for another decade or more.
