100% Syrah from the Naravane Vineyard in Walla Walla, the 2019 Veritas Sequitur is a treat in every aspect. I didn’t have tech sheets on this wine, but I imagine it’s aged in a decent percentage of new oak, giving it some incredible spice tones and added body. The nose is everything I love about a Washington Syrah - think aromas of crushed blue plum, black cherry, scorched peppercorn, black-peppered charcuterie, dried pink grapefruit zest, purple rose, and dusty country road. Perfectly balanced, the acidity and tannins collide into a marvelous finish that goes on for ages. Highly recommended and editor’s choice.
