The 2019 Tranche Cabernet Sauvignon rested for 20 months in 45% new French oak barrels. Fruit is grown on the Blue Mountain Vineyard, which is one of the highest elevations in all of the Walla Walla Valley. It’s a pure Cabernet with yummy notes of crushed blackberries, dark cherries, cassis, humidor, toasted vanilla bean, and cedary herbs. Tannins are aggressive and will need a few years to settle. Luckily it’s so balanced that even with the chalky tannins, the mouthwatering acidity and dark fruit that lingers on the tongue finish things off nicely. 521 cases were made
