MONGATA WINERY Cabernet Sauvignon, Walla Walla Valley 2020

The 2020 Mongata Cabernet Sauvignon is made by one of my favorite winemakers, Pete Devison. A blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon that is co-fermented with 10% Syrah and aged in 60% new French oak. Interesting and complex on the nose, with aromas of dark cherry candy, dusty earth, cassis, singed dried herbs, and baking spice take center stage. Fine-grained and grippy tannins on the finish alongside perfect levels of acidity that balance everything out.
