REYNVAAN Syrah, Walla Walla Valley 'The Contender’ 2020

The 2020 Contender Syrah from Reynvaan sports a deep ruby core with a neon pink rim. On the nose, the first impression is very floral and fragrant, with fresh violet and dried rose petals jumping from the glass. The palate brings those lovely Washington Syrah notes of crushed green peppercorn, freshly struck flint, tangelo peel, and bacon fat alongside blue plum and black cherry fruits. Smooth tannins meld with medium levels of acidity, which lead to a dried Meyer lemon peel, mountain sage, and black-peppered charcuterie finish. Drink this over the next 10 years. Highly recommended.
