A medium purple core with a neon pink rim in the glass, the 2020 Sonessence Syrah is another stunner from winemaker Matt Reynvaan. The nose starts with aromas of freshly struck flint and ground black pepper, with boysenberry, black cherry, and pink grapefruit zest notes taking up second place. Meaty flavors are focused on the palate - think roasted baby back ribs, pork charcuterie, black olives, and specs of fresh herbs. Acidity checks in on the high side and merges perfectly with the sweet tannins and the citrusy and herbal finish that goes on forever. Drink this over the next 10-15 years Highly recommended.
