Comprised of 75% Sangiovese, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Syrah, the 2020 Walla Walla Vintners Vottavo is a well-rounded wine. Spending 22 months in 10% new French oak barrels and 90% neutral puncheons, it sports a medium purple color. It possesses a classy entry, with rounded tannins that are plentiful and pleasing. Plum, boysenberry, licorice, leather and slight pepper all come together nicely. With time in the glass, it softens slightly, and it has a wonderfully long finish for a Sangiovese dominant wine. Give it a couple of years in the cellar and enjoy through 2035.
