DU COEUR Syrah, Walla Walla Valley 2021

The first Syrah from Du Coeur is a winner, this one coming from the Eritage Vineyard of Walla Walla. It saw all 2nd-fill French oak barrels for 20 months during aging and presents a brooding dark purple core with a light purple rim un the glass. Scintillating tones of fresh eucalyptus, wet pine forest, crushed blackberries, cedary herbs, roasted meats, and black olive juice are present on the nose and on the palate. Crunchy tannins, moderate acidity, and a full-bodied mouthfeel complete the wine. A great first effort!
