Perfection in a glass is the 2022 Estate Reserve Red Wine from Doubleback. Sporting a dark brooding purple core with a bright blue rim, this majority Cabernet Sauvignon dominate blend is absolutely spectacular. Scintillating aromas of dusty forest black fruits, a touch of tar, sweet toasted spice, cedary herbs, dried rose, and shades of lavender flowers, dark chocolate, and espresso beans are expertly woven together into a plush mélange. Sweet grippy tannins, lush acidity, and a superb full-bodied mouthfeel complete the wine. It’s surprisingly elegant for being so young and so powerful. 689 cases made. Better in 2025.
