The 2013 'Estate Old Vines' Cabernet Sauvignon from Woodward Canyon is an utterly compelling wine in this vintage. This comes from Woodward Canyon’s oldest block of Clone 8 Cabernet Sauvignon which was thinned to one cluster per shoot to insure evenly ripened fruit. The average yield was less than 1 ton per acre. The wine itself opens to profound aromatics of black tea, coffee grounds, mocha and tar all soaring from the glass. Dense, polished and layered there are rich flavors of mocha, mint, milk chocolate, and black tea with Asian spices. This has wonderful tannins structure and intense weight and should age effortlessly for a decade and even beyond. (Best 2017-2030) - July, 2017 (OB)
