The 2021 Matteri Pinot Noir from Sunu is a lovely example from Oregon that sports a medium ruby-garnet core with a watery rim. A bouquet of ripe cherries, cherry liquor, dried forest herbs, milk chocolate shavings, purple potpourri, and exotic spice spills from the glass. Lovely tension on the palate with blue fruit and sea breeze salinity shining through. Tannins are rounded and integrated into the backbone of the wine, and the bright core of acidity helps finish things off.
