DOMAINE SERENE Red Wine, Oregon ‘Grand Cheval’ 2021

The interesting and unique Grand Cheval from the 2021 vintage boasts a medium ruby-purple core with a fluorescent pink rim. Bringing a blend of 74% Syrah and 26% Pinot Noir that spends 17 months in partially new French oak barrels, this is a wine that is fairly unique to Domaine Serene. I love the nose which brings in red and black fruits, Christmas spices, olive brine, and black-peppered charcuterie notes. The palate is much the same with black fruit and bitter herbs hitting the back palate on the finish. 1441 cases produced.
