REX HILL Pinot Noir, Chehalem Mountains ‘Jacob-Hart Estate Vineyard’ 2019

The Jacob-Hart Vineyard is the first estate vineyard for Rex Hill. About 18% whole cluster is used during fermentation, and it’s aged for 10 months in 45% new, 33% 1-year, and 24% neutral French oak barrels. Dark and inky in the glass with a deep ruby-purple core, and a neon ruby rim, it’s a rich and full bodied effort that boasts notes of dried black cherry, blue plum, rose petal, scorched earth, powdered graphite, and vanilla bean. Wonderfully balanced, it ends with gorgeous acidity, sweet tannin, and a full, fruit-forward and earthy finish. 510 cases produced in 2019.
