Aged mostly in neutral and 2-year-old French oak barrels, the 2018 Olenik Pinot Noir presents a ruby-garnet core with a fluorescent purple rim. 2018 was a hot vintage in the Willamette Valley and delivers very structured, ripe Pinot Noirs. Ripe blue plum, candied raspberries, black cherry, spruce forest, and sappy herbs penetrate the nose and the palate. It finishes with crunchy sweet tannins, perfect levels of acidity, and a lengthy earthy and black-fruit-driven aspect on the mid-palate. About 200 cases were made.
