PONZI Pinot Noir, Chehalem Mountains ‘Avellana’ 2020

Probably in the top 3 of all the 2020 Pinot Noirs that I tasted from Oregon. Because of all the smoke and forest during harvest, most 2020s are undrinkable, but this wine is vibrant and fresh and has none of the smokey aspects I found in other wines from this vintage. Lush notes of red cherry, black raspberry, Christmas spice, dried sage, and just a smooch of black tea rush the palate. The acidity is in check and carries the wine to a lengthy, fruit driven-palate that carries on for at least a minute. Drink now.
