The 2019 Chehalem Mountains Pinot Noir from Du Coeur sees 15% new French oak barrels for a period of 10 months. A shimmering medium to dark ruby core with a neon purple rim in the glass, it explodes with copious aromas of mountain blueberry, graphite, dried thyme, and black tea on the nose. I adored the note of Blood orange pith on the back palate. Tannins are rounded and present, while acidity is on the medium-plus side. It finishes with a bitter herb and a blue-fruit tone on the tongue.
