Old vines planted by Dick Erath in 1968 produce the fruit for the unprecedented 2021 Chehalem Mountain Pinot Noir from 00 Wines. Displaying an eye-catching medium light purple and ruby core with a light pink rim, this wine is otherworldly on the nose and on the palate. Amazing fruit flavors and aromas of Bing cherry, blue plum skin, lemony herbs, chocolate shavings, white pepper, and dried lavender are all present. Perfectly balanced with no rough edges to be found, it keeps you coming back for more, and with each sip, you experience something new in the wine. Tannins are soft and integrated with balanced acidity. It’s perfection on the palate. Just 74 cases were produced, so if you can find a bottle, grab a bottle. Highly recommended and editor’s choice.
