I love the Mourvedre wines coming out of Washington State and I’m surprised that more winemakers aren’t producing them because they can be stunning - including this one from Prospice. It has 4% Syrah in the blend, but the nose is pure Mourvedre. Dark-fruit driven with rich components of smokey herbs, coffee, old leather and earthy funk. I am in love with the nose on this wine. A medium mouthfeel supports the wonderful acidity and lengthy finish. I recommend finding a few bottles of this wine to cellar as the production is incredibly small. Only 99 cases produced.
