TROTHE Red Wine, Horse Heaven Hills 2020

Malbec coming from the Horse Heaven Hills AVA, the 2020 Trothe Limited sports a dark ruby-purple core with a bright neon rim. It shows black cherry, black raspberry, dried cedary herbs, powdered graphite, crushed clove, and scorched earth notes on the nose. The mouthfeel and freshness of the wine are incredibly good, as is the weight on the mid-palate. Tannins are grippy but sweet and need some time to integrate, and acidity checks in at the medium to high level. This is a baby and needs another few years in the bottle before enjoying.
