Showcasing a deep brick-ruby core with a neon pink rim in the glass, the 2019 Cancilla begins with an unbelievable nose of boysenberry, black cherry, Christmas spice, pine forest breeze, and a touch of ground cinnamon spice. The palate is a tad leaner than the nose, but mostly because of the elevated amount of acidity that hits the mid-palate. I loved the flavors of scorched earth, black raspberry, and vanilla bean on the back palate as well as the crunchy tannins that give it some much-needed aging potential of a decade or more. Better in 2023. A tiny amount of 36 cases were produced.
