PURPLE HANDS Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley ‘Le Nouveau Monde Pinot Noir’ 2021

Winemaker Cody Wright hand selects 5 barrels from 3 single vineyard sites to showcase the pure expression of the vintage. It’s aged for 10 months in 75% new French oak barrels and is the best wine of 2021 from Purple Hands. The nose is richer and more peppery than Cody’s other Pinots, but in a way that showcases the incredible fruit - freshly picked black cherry, boysenberry, dried lavender, and cedary herbs combine with a dusting of white pepper and a hint of milk chocolate. Additional flavors of black raspberry and wet autumn leaves work wonders on the palate, and play nicely with the perfect levels of acidity and crunch tannins. Better in 2023 and then enjoy for 10 years or more. A small production of only 112 cases were made. Editors Choice.
