Medium-dark ruby in the glass, with a neon pink rim, this Nicolas Jay Pinot Noir from Momtazi Vineyard is a treat. 50% new French oak brings an amazing spicy character and darker fruit to the nose and on the palate. Sourced from biodynamic grapes from one of the oldest (planted in the late 1990s) and best vineyards in the area, this stunning wine has notes of black cherry pie, spiced blue plum, black peppercorn, cedary herbs, and a hint of tangerine zest. It sports lovely acidity and crunchy tannins, alongside a fruity and herbaceous finish. It is a bit tight and needs some time in the bottle, but with that time, expect an exceptional bottle of wine. Hold until 2023 to drink. Only 195 cases produced.
