ELTON Pinot Noir, Eola-Amity Hills ‘Self Rooted’ 2019

A medium magenta core with a blueish rim displays nicely in the glass. This Pommard clone Pinot Noir comes from own-rooted old vines planted in 1983. Aged for 16 months in 25% new French oak barrels, it boasts notes of spiced red plum, dried black cherry, toasted anise, cedary herbs, black licorice, and dried violet. Juicy acidity, medium rounded tannins, and an herbaceous yet red-fruit-driven finish complete the wine. 300 cases were made.
