The 2012 Extended Tirage Brut from Argyle is a mélange of 40% Pinot Noir and 60% Chardonnay and spends 3 years en tirage and are disgorged as needed for sales. The Extended Tirage wines are always my favorite from Argyle and the patience needed to hold these delicious sparklers for over 10 years is mind-blowing. Vibrant notes of oxidized pear, yellow stone fruits, and golden apple merge with the flavors of baked croissant, toasted sweet cinnamon, and hints of wet leaves. The fine mousse dances on the palate alongside the racy acidity and lengthy finish. Complex and interesting, it will only get better with age. Highly recommended and editor’s choice. 1530 cases made
