Pinot Gris is coming into its own in the Willamette Valley, and the 2022 Skin Contact “orange wine” Pinot Gris from Cristom is a stellar example. A light lemony-orange core with a watery rim in the glass produces a textural and weighty glass of wine with just the perfect amount of acidity. White peach, dried orange peel, blanched almonds, dusty road, and orange blossom all play together nicely.
