Sourced from the esteemed Shea Vineyard, this Pinot Noir comes from two blocks. Block 6, which faces SE on a hillside of shallow sedimentary soil at an eleavtion of 450' to 500', and is planted with Pommard and 115, and the Terrace Block which is a steep SW slope planted in 2002 with Pommard clone. The result is a brilliant Pinot Noir which shows off a beautiful combination of red and black fruits on the nose with a touch of spicebox. Elegant and seductive, this knockout Pinot delivers gorgeous flavors of black plums, black truffle, black cherry liquor and a touch of forest floor. The range and intensity of this wine is top shelf. Overall, this is a sensational Pinot Noir which should evolve beautifully over the course of the next decade.
