The Domaine Divio Toison D’Or from 2021 is made in the best vintages and is translated as a “reward for hard work.” It’s an absolutely phenomenal bottle of Pinot Noir and one that competes easily on the world stage from anywhere in the world. The nose reminds me of watching the sunset on a summer’s evening with notes of ripe Bing cherry, red currant, wild blueberry, sweet toasted clove, fresh cedary herbs, melted dark chocolate playing front and center. Additional characteristics of graphite, black tea, and just a hint of juniper follow it up nicely. Tannins are a structured but well integrated and the ample acidity finishes this almost perfect bottle of wine. Highly recommended and editors choice.
