With fruit coming from the estate vineyards surrounding the tasting room, the 2021 Clos Gallia features a light to medium raspberry-colored core with a neon pink rim. Very floral and expressive on the nose with aromas of crushed lavender, potpourri, white pepper, toasted pine nuts, and umami, and also fruity notes of black raspberry, spiced blue plum, and a hint of grapefruit zest. Wonderfully balanced with no rough edges to speak of, it has a perfect balance of fruit, wet earth, toasted spice, sweet tannin, and acidity that I fell in love with. Highly recommended.
