2013 Top 100 - Rank # 76
The 2010 Duckhorn Cabernet Franc displays a gorgeous opaque deep purple color. It draws you right in with inviting aromas of ripe black cherries, dark current, spices, herbs, leather, licorice, tobacco and fresh violets. This is round and polished with a well-structured plush texture that shows wonderful concentration and depth. The long finish starts out supple before turnning dry leaving dark fruits, tobacco and spices lingering . A fantastic Cabernet Franc from Duckhorn that is approachable now, but will even be better with some cellaring. The wine was aged 15 months in 100% French oak, 50% new, 50% second vintage. (Best 2014-2023) - June, 2013 (JD)
