The Sugarloaf Mountain Proprietary Red is another knockout by Russell Bevan in 2011. This Merlot and Cabernet fFanc blend is Bevan's version of Cheval Blanc. This seductive beauty is drinking awesome right now and does not need to be cellared. The fruit here is very pronounced and forward. It has a beautiful full silky body bursting with dark berries and sugar plums with hints of cigar smoke and spice. The finish is sensual and lingering. I recommend paying special attention to Bevan Cellars, especially in 2011 where he has seemed to thrive. - February, 2014 (VM)
