When is comes to the Languedoc, it doesn’t get much better then the wines of La Pèira en Damaisèla, and the 2010 ‘La Pèira’ is a sensational showing. This blend of Syrah and Grenache from the Terrasses du Larzac is dense, concentrated and possesses incredible intensity. Seductive aromas of black fruits, crème de cassis, dark chocolate, espresso, spices, violets and black olive leap from the glass. This is full-bodied and powerful, showing wonderful depth before leaving behind a thick coating of more dark fruits, espresso and chocolate notes that carry on for minutes. Given extended air contact this is drinking fantastic right now, however theres no doubt has a long life ahead for those willing to wait. (Best 2016-2035) - February, 2014 (JD)
