The Mills vineyard was planted in 1984 and is situated 2,200-2,300 feet above sea level on South-facing hillsides sloping to Harlan Creek. This 2011 Pinot Noir is a show stopper, with a fantastic nose of fresh strawberry, dark cherry, white flowers, smoke, exotic spice, damp forest, green vegetable and fresh minerals. The fruit is so pure and balanced and the silky tannins slide through the palate leading to a long elegant finish. This should certainly please most and will be hard to resist early on, however this will benefit from additional bottle age and will continue to evolve for over a decade.
