The 2015 Butteaux Chablis 1er Cru is a fabulous showing in this vintage from Patrick Piuze. This is a textbook Chablis, which begins with pretty aromatics of lemon zest, fresh sliced honeycrisp apples, florals and crushed stones all taking shape. On the palate this is precise, focused and well-balanced with lovely acidity and minerality. This shows wonderful elegance and clarity, as well as possesses the ripe characteristics of the warm vintage, making this accessible now, however it should also continue to drink beautifully over the next decade.
