The Authenticity has always been on of Jordan’s most compelling wines and thee is no exception in this vintage. The 2014 is composed from a blend of 89% Syrah, 11% Mourvèdre, which was fermented in stainless steel, oak and concrete tanks and new 1/2 ton French oak puncheons (39% whole cluster) prior to spending 18 months in French oak barrels and puncheons (66% new). The wine itself is simply seductive, as it bursts open with profound aromatics of black cherry reduction, blackberries and even blueberries which come together with violets, spices, chocolate, herbs and licorice. Full-bodied, dense and layered, yet it possesses amazing poise and a gorgeous sense of freshness. It continues to impress with its complex character together with its wonderful opulence and length through the long, multidimensional finish. While this is nothing short of delicious now, give this some time to develop and it should become even more interesting.
