The 2016 ‘Messorio’ is another utterly captivating wine from Le Macchiole in this vintage. As this alluring Merlot slowly unwinds in the glass it releases striking aromatics of raspberries, dark cherries, dried red flowers, citrus zest and subtle hints of fresh vanilla all come together to form the aromatic framework of this wine. This possesses outstanding balance with beautiful soft texture that expands gracefully into the the rich and harmonious finish. There is so much potential here, however it will require a few years before it shows its best stuff.
