The 2017 Passi di Orma is a fantastic showing which is composed of a blend of 40% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 25% Cabernet Franc. It opens to aromas of ripe blackberries, dark currant and red plums which are woven together with nuances of tobacco, roasted coffee and dried spices. The palate is full-bodied and well-structured with notable tannins present, but not intrusive, as it comes to an end with a long lingering finish. This is simply delicious now, but should show even better after a few years of bottle age.
