The Maranges ‘Clos de la Fussière’ is a Monopole situated on a south-facing 1 hectare slope, which is comprised of 50-60 year-old vines. The 2012 offers a wonderful mix of aromas and flavors, consisting of blackberries, raspberries spices, earth, smoldering ash, savory herbs and fresh minerals. It possesses a medium body with excellent structure, backed by gorgeous acidity providing energy and lift. The finish is long and racy, leaving behind a mouthful of juicy red fruits lingering. Today this can be approached if given extended air contact, but it will be at is best if allowed some time in the cellar for it to fully evolve. (Best 2017-2028) - July, 2015 (JD)
